In, Square in Square, it is impossible not to see the influence of Piet Mondrian, one of the fathers of color science, theory and minimalist art in this mesmerizing composition in muted compliments. This movement began with cubism and evolved as many artists experimented and flourished in the post war modernism. So much was influenced by Mondrian, and this piece draws upon what has come before as so many powerful pieces do.
