“Night Squares”, expands upon the non representational design and color field elements of the small squares series, to introduce a reference to landscape if only through title alone. This could be interpreted as a reference to Duchampian context art. The context in this case being language, which steers the viewer into a scene of a cool moon over a dimly lit landscape of soft tones. Jerome was always weaving elements of art theory in delicate threads, moving towards a mastery and style of his own making.
